Gurudev addressed world leaders and heads of state at the annual World Economic Forum (WEF) gathering in Davos, Switzerland. The WEF is one of the most prestigious and much-awaited global economic events.

Gurudev talked about the betterment of mental health in the post-covid era based on this year’s WEF theme – Cooperation in a Fragmented World.

Addressing the gathering of eminent business leaders and delegates from different countries, Gurudev said the world is undergoing a global mental health crisis following the coronavirus pandemic.

“The worldwide response to the Covid-19 pandemic highlighted how when we work together, we can achieve better and more equitable health outcomes. The current approach to addressing mental health is ineffective and calls for a fundamental change. We must address the root cause from a holistic perspective and explore breath as a tool to manage the mind and emotions,” Gurudev said.

Gurudev said that while a lot of money is spent on tackling mental health, India could be of great help in addressing the crisis. Gurudev said India has holistic and powerful healing systems such as Ayurveda, meditation, and yoga.

Around 2,700 leaders from 130 countries and 53 heads of state are part of the 53rd WEF conference in Davos. Gurudev encouraged leaders to unite and find solutions to tackle global mental health issues.

As the founder of The Art of Living, an organization that has proven results of helping millions across the globe through meditation and yoga, and the flagship breathing technique Sudarshan Kriya, Gurudev said to address mental health issues, we need to empower individuals, which in turn strengthens society.
