In the aftermath of violent riots between the indigenous Bodos and Bengali-speaking Muslims, Gurudev toured the riot-hit districts of Kokrajhar and Chirang in Assam, India, and visited many Bodo camps.

In addition to commencing workshops to help refugees combat post-traumatic stress, Gurudev initiated a dialog between the opposing factions. He successfully urged the representatives of both parties to work toward long-term solutions to the region’s problems while maintaining peace and harmony.

Gurudev also visited refugees at the Kajalgoan Higher Secondary school camp in Chirang, where he initiated a supply of food and resources for infants and young children. He also distributed clothes and necessities to refugees at the Vidyapeeth High School in Kokrajhar.

Local officials acknowledged that Gurudev’s efforts contributed toward containing the crisis.
