This year, the Mahashivratri celebrations at the Art of Living International Center witnessed more than 150,000 people from 60 different countries participating in the festivities. Festivities went on through out the night and concluded with a traditional Rudra Homa in the morning. The night saw 152 Rudra Pujas being conducted across 19 Indian states.

In addition to the traditional ceremonies and meditations during the event, this year, new environment initiatives were launched to promote clean and green energy. Sri Sri Tattva and GREENSTAT joined forces to launch their joint venture HYENR, which will provide affordable, clean energy through Green Hydrogen, EVs, and other solutions.

Moreover, on the occasion of Mahashivratri, the “Rashtriya Desi Beej Kosh” (seed bank) was inaugurated, which will house indigenous seeds and endangered medicinal plants. More than 100 seed keepers from across India participated in the event, contributing over 5,000 varieties of seeds.

Gurudev also shed light on the various aspects of Shiva. He shared how Shiva has no face, yet he is associated with the five elements of nature, and each of his five faces represents one of these elements. Shiva is also known by many names, such as Sadyojata, Vamadeva, Aghora, Sahasraksha, and Virupaksha, each depicting different qualities and attributes.

Shiva is also considered the principle of man and the spirit that resides in our body. The Shiva Tattva, which embodies 36 principles of nature, is a field of all possibilities and includes everything within it. When one aligns with the Shiva Tattva, they are said to have the gift of immortality.

Mahashivratri celebrations serve as a poignant reminder of the crucial role that kindness, benevolence, and compassion play in our lives. Shiva, also known as Shankara, symbolizes these virtues and serves as an inspiration for us to spread love and compassion.

In conclusion, Mahashivratri celebrations left people feeling uplifted and inspired, having enjoyed the music, dancing, meditation, and traditional ceremonies. The energy of the night was vibrant and electric, with people from all over the world coming together to celebrate this auspicious occasion.
